Mr. De Metro was the mediator in my divorce negotiations during the summer of 2009. During that time, my spouse and I met with Mr. De Metro in his office on multiple occasions. In our first meeting, Mr. De Metro thoroughly explained to us the benefits of mediation, as well as its limitations. He explained very clearly his role, his payment structure and our options for proceeding. For example, he provided us with the option of receiving a Memorandum of Understanding or a Matrimonial Settlement Agreement.

This consisted of approximately eight sessions. He was completely capable and provided detailed explanations of not only the process, but of matrimonial law. When my husband of 16 years left me for a divorce I didn't know who to trust or where to turn for advice.
I had heard about divorce mediation, but really didn't understand it, so I researched divorce mediation online & came upon Mr. De Metro's website for Montclair Divorce Mediation. I called him and he took the time to patiently explain the mediation process to me and how it was different from my husband & I hiring our own attorneys. My husband had already consulted an attorney, but agreed to go for an initial consultation with Mr. De Metro when I explained to him the financial advantages of using mediation vs. each of us hiring our own attorney and fighting in court. My now soon to be ex husband agreed to try the mediation process. It was difficult taking apart the pieces of our marriage and our life together but Mr. De Metro was calm, patient and direct and always got us back on track when we would be disagreeing and would find a way to help us to come to an agreement on issues that were very difficult for me to deal with. We were in a pretty good place to make an agreement, but we obviously needed some help.
